Could someone explain why u(x,t) =sin(x+3t) for x>t, when in the line above its says $\phi(x0 = \psi(x) = 0$ \\
Which would imply $$u = 0 \\for x > 0?$$

I believe that is a typo. The question does not have anything to do with sine.
