##### APM346 Misc / Bug in HA total calculation?

I think there might be some bug with the total homework mark calculation mentioned in this post ( http://forum.math.toronto.edu/index.php?topic=162.msg987#msg987 ).

Calculating my total homework mark using the same formula, I get a total HA mark 2 points greater than the one I see online on Portal. Does anyone else have a similar issue? I wonder if it might affect people who did not submit HA9 in particular, since I did not submit it, and know of someone else who did not submit it who seemed to have the same problem.

Use separation of variables to solve the Dirichlet problem for the Laplacian on the unit disk $\mathbb{D} = \{ (x,y) \in \mathbb{R}^2: x^2 + y^2 < 1\}$ with boundary condition $u(1, \theta) = \cos \theta.$
(The boundary condition is described in polar coordinates $(r, \theta) \rightarrow u(r, \theta)$ along $r=1$).

Hi,

It looks like a mysterious 77 slipped its way into Equation 13 of Lecture 26: http://www.math.toronto.edu/courses/apm346h1/20129/L26.html#mjx-eqn-eq-13 .

I assume this is a typo?

Hi all,

I noticed on http://www.math.toronto.edu/courses/apm346h1/20129/about_home_assignments.html that it says

Quote
• Two worst assignments (included those you did not submit and got 0) will be dropped;
• So, if there will be 10 assignments, only 8 will be counted and each would contribute 2.5 to the Term Mark;

To be clear, does this mean that no matter how many assignments there are, 2 will be dropped? (Ex. if we had 8 assignments, only 6 would be counted, and each would contribute 3.3% to the Term Mark.)

Just to clarify - should equation 9 in the notes for lecture 12 (http://www.math.toronto.edu/courses/apm346h1/20129/L12.html#mjx-eqn-eq-9) read

$\lambda_n = - n^2 \pi^2 / l^2$ ?
