Sum of all Quizzes
« on: April 05, 2018, 07:08:26 AM »
Quiz 7 on Blackboard

Also Quiz-total =
Code: [Select]
LARGE(Q1:Q7,1)+ LARGE(Q1:Q7,2)+ LARGE(Q1:Q7,3)+ LARGE(Q1:Q7,4)+ LARGE(Q1:Q7,5) (Excel pseudocode), for those who wrote less than 5 quizzes it is undefined and replaced by
Code: [Select]
SUM(Q1:Q7) (nobody submitted more than 1 doctor note for Quizzes, so no adjustment)

Bonus Q will be counted in Bonuses when I count them just before submitting Final Mark

Not calculating for Term Tests since they are pooled with Final Exam

In your original announcement, when you said
"I will offer a bonus quiz--which means that the mark for it will be simply added to the final mark"
I was under the impression you would add it to final quiz mark?  This has a more positive impact on marks, and seems more intuitive to me? It tested a fundamentally different thing than the Bonus contributions section.

Why? It is just added to the Final Mark. Just for you I created Quizzes* .

The problem is that if someone wrote < 5 Quizzes the general formula I used returns UNDEFINED (in Excel) and I need to use alternative formula SUM (because in your class nobody legitimately missed >2 quizzes) and decision when to apply the latter was done manually. So I want not to throw another field into this, but to keep it  separate

Dr. Ivrii,
OK now I understand. Thanks for such a transparent process
