Question regarding P3 on TT

for some problem 3 we choose y1 = Ae^t and sometimes we choose y1 = Bte^t (just like the question below) How do we know when to choose which term for y1?

When we choose y1=Ae^t and the result is 0 regardless of A, then we need to choose y1=Ate^t.

The letters are used to help you find the particular solution. The reason why different letters are used is to avoid duplication.
