First Lecture Material
« on: September 11, 2014, 09:25:29 AM »
Hello all,

I missed the first lecture due to the harsh weather conditions yesterday.

Can someone fill me in on what material of the textbook was covered?

Thank you!

You are wimp! There were no harsh weather conditions. What are you going to do during the winter? :D

In L5101 we glanced via Chapter 1 and from Chapter 2 covered: 1st order equations:
  • Geometric interpretation (directional fields and integral curves),
  • the notion of Cauchy problem (initial-value problem),
  • separable equations,
  • 1st order linear equations (homogeneous; then inhomogeneous with methods (a) variation of parameters (b) integrating factors;
  • Exact equations.

In L5102 including section 2.6

You need to indicate your section.

BTW, fix your name.
