The 2013 Spring semester course evaluation window closes for students tomorrow, April 9th.
In order to ensure the highest possible response rate, we would like to encourage you to take a moment in order to provide an update for students through your course’s Blackboard announcement tool or alternative announcement medium.
Research demonstrates that engaged and informed students are motivated to complete course evaluations - you can encourage this engagement by demonstrating your involvement in course evaluations. Posting a message with a title such as “Please complete your course evals by Tuesday, April 9â€, and which outlines the importance of course evaluation results for both your students, through the information provided in the anti-calendar, and for your own professional development, through your teaching portfolio, can provide students with a fuller understanding of the significance of the course evaluation process. Student feedback has indicated that an effective approach is to highlight the role of course evaluations in tenure, promotion, and merit assessment.
