Style and coverage of midterm?
« on: October 04, 2013, 09:44:21 PM »
I'm just wondering about the coverage on the midterm. So only chapter 1 and 2 are covered right? Because I looked at the past term test 1 and found questions on second order linear equations, so I just want to make sure if that's gonna be on the midterm or not.

And also, according to some of the past tests, there are 4 questions in total, out of 20 points?

Thanks!

Have not we written "chapter 1 and 2 "?

In past semesters MidTerm was later, was shorter, covered different topics and there were other tests. Have not we written 30 points? You'll see the number of questions October 9.

So by chapter 2 do you mean all of ch 2 including 2.7, 2.8, and the miscellaneous ch2 problems?

Thanks

Thanks!

My instructor (Jesse) said that there was no 2.8 on the test

just checking because it was not covered in our section but you indicated in this forum that it would be tested

Should we expect any drawing question in the midterm?
Like the one ask you to draw the directional field , or isoclines, which i found in previous years test?

You should expect everything which was in sections of Chapters 1 and 2 we covered.

Midterm Coverage

I know the coverage is chap1 & chap2 but some questions (such as 42-51 in textbook chapter 2 Miscellaneous Problems ) are related to Second Order Equations..so should we worry about that?

Yes, as I already mentioned, you should expect everything from Chapters 1 and 2 with exceptions of section(s) we have not covered. It does not mean that  everything will be covered by test (which is simply impossible).

OK, there will be no second order equations.

Instead of starting new topics and posting you should find relevant topics, read them and post there if your question is not answered there. Multiplying topics is as bad as hijacking topics (posting in some topic irrelevant messages).
