Thanks!
I'm not used to checking blackboard for this class anymore, considering the updates come from here most often haha

Will wednesdays midterm again be all computational? And up to what chapter in the book will be covered for it?
Thanks.

Is there a handout on this? We didnt spend much class time on it and the textbook doesn't have much on this part. Also is this an application of Millmans theorem?

Have we learnt how to solve this problem using the method described in the first solution? If so, where in our notes/textbook did we cover this?

MAT244 Math--Lectures / Integration Techniques to Know for Test #1
« on: October 06, 2014, 09:10:30 PM »
-Basic anti-derivatives
-Trig Integrals
-Partial Fraction
-Integration by parts
-Inegration by substitution

Are there any other techniques you would suggest brushing up on Dr. Irvii? I skipped first year math due to a transfer credit, so my skills are a bit rusty, but I wanted to make sure I covered everything.
Thanks :)

Do you care which method we use to solve a question? I prefer the former, as it is less guess work, but I wanted to make sure that if we just wanted to use one to solve questions that is fine

Will test #1 be similar to previous years, where all the questions will be computational (no proofs)?

MAT244 Misc / Re: Quiz #1 Error

I was more reffering to L5102, who did have the correction found, but only at the last few minutes of class, giving us little time to complete it. I think its fair if we were to take the best 4/5 quizzes for that reason-ensuring that this mistake doesn't cost people the marks on their quiz

MAT244 Misc / Quiz #1 Error
« on: September 24, 2014, 10:36:58 PM »
Hi,
I was wondering if it would be possible to look at maybe discounting the first quiz that we took today. A error with one of the problems was announced at the very end of the alloted time, and in the end we were given maybe 5-7 minutes extra to work on the problem with the correction that was given. For myself, since I spent the majority of my time on trying to figure out the problem (albeit unsuccesfully due to the error), I had virtually 5 minutes in the end to now do 2 problem in a span that was extremely short. I understand that errors do occur on quizzes and tests, but I feel like in a situation like this, where we have time constraints and the like, that this quiz was extremely unfair. As a result, I think we should either take our best 4/5 quizzes or simply discount this quiz for this reason.

Thanks.

Is it possible to have a quiz today?
I only ask since last week, since myself (and I reckon several others) were still on the waitlist for the course, and only just got in recently to the course and as such, are still catching up on last weeks material, and wouldn't be adequately prepared for todays quiz if we were to have one.
