Term Test 1 arrangement
« on: January 28, 2018, 10:45:31 AM »
* Please select  Option 1 if you do not have a conflict

* If Option 1 does not work for you (you have a conflict), but Option 2 works, select it

* If both Options 1, 2 do not work for you (you have a conflict), but Option 3 works, select it

* If Options 1, 2, 3 do not work for you (you have a conflict), but Option 4 works, select it

* If none of the Options work, then email me (ivrii@math.toronto.edu) indicating: that none of the above options work and what other options would work: (like 9:00-11:00 morning and so on). Do not email me if any of the options offered works for you

Note that with early sittings you may be not allowed to leave the room earlier.

Please, respond ASAP: rooms are in the short supply, especially large ones.

Term Test 1 arrangements

Based on your responses:

  • Main sitting: 20:00—22:00, EX 100 and EX200 (instructions, where you should go will be posted here).
  • Early sitting 1: 08:00—10:00, BA 3116
  • Early sitting 2: 15:00—17:00, EX 300
  • Only 5 students voted for 11:00—13:00. Only 2 students voted for "nothing works for me"; which makes total 7
    • If you one of these 7 students and can join either of early sittings, do it (and send me email);
    • If you one of them and cannot join any of early sittings, send me email; if you already sent me email and I responded, please email again February 10 (just to remind me).

Clarification:
* Those who voted for   8:00--10:00: just come 08:00—10:00, BA 3116, and that's all
* Those who voted for 15:00--17:00: just come 15:00—17:00, EX 300, and that's all
* Those who voted for 11:00--13:00 should join any other  sitting, if they can, and that's all

Only remaining students should email me and get an alternative arrangement (tell me which slots work for you:
during 10:15--14:45 period or 17:30--19:30 slot). This will take place in my office, so these spaces are precious

Term Test 1 organization
« Reply #3 on: February 10, 2018, 02:58:11 AM »
We need to be well organized to ran test smoothly. We need to spend as little time as possible for getting ready to write.

Please, do not enter the room unless invited!

Early sitting: BA3116, 08:00--10:00 (am)
There is a regular class immediately after us, so the common courtesy requires us to leave the room no later than 10:05.

Early sitting: EX 300, 15:00--17:00
There are  tests  immediately before and immediately after us, so we may not be able to enter the room sharp at 15:00 and the common courtesy requires us to leave the room no later than 17:05.

In the room look for the letter on the "front" pillars and take a seat in the rows to the left from "your" pillar:
http://ace.utoronto.ca/i/Photos/Website/RoomPlansPDF/EX300.pdf
A--LTo the right from the central pillar
M--ZTo the left from the central pillar

Do not go far away and do not hide behind the pillar! Take a seat with the Test paper on the table!

Regular sitting: EX 100+EX200, 20:00--22:00
There is a test immediately before us, so we may not be able to enter the room sharp at 20:00.

Those, with the last names, starting from A--L, go to EX100
Those, with the last names, starting from M--Z, go to EX200

In the rooms look for the letters on the "front" pillars and take a seat in the 4 rows to the left from "your" pillar:
In EX-100
http://ace.utoronto.ca/i/Photos/Website/RoomPlansPDF/ex100.pdf

A--Dabetween the 1st and the 2nd  pillars from the right
De--Hbetween the 2nd and the 3rd  pillars from the right
I--Li J.between the 3rd and the 4th pillars from the right
Li M.--Lzto the left from the leftmost pillar
Do not go to the back! Those who come late (after test begins) will be placed separately (to the right from the rightmost pillar)

In EX-200
http://ace.utoronto.ca/i/Photos/Website/RoomPlansPDF/ex200.pdf
M--Si between the 1st and the 2nd  pillars from the right
Sm--Wo between the 2nd and the 3rd  pillars from the right
Wu--Zhang S.between the 3rd and the 4th pillars from the right
Zhang T.--Zzto the left from the leftmost pillar
Those who come late (after test begins) will be placed separately (to the right from the rightmost pillar)

So, please
* Come few minutes before the test (say 7:50 am, 16:50 and 19:50 correspondingly), put everything you need on the test (pens, pencils,  eraser, pencil  sharpener  + eyeglasses + a water bottle, may be a little snack which will leave no garbage  and don't forget the student ID card) into a transparent plastic bug, switch you cellphones off or put them into the silent mode and put them into backpacks, take off your jackets and coats and put hats, gloves, mitts, scarves into sleeves or pockets, or backpacks, so

* When you enter the room you are able leave all this near the front wall in BA3116, near the front wall or on the shelves in EX300, EX100 and EX200, (but not behind instructor's desks), and go to the tables only with this plastic bag with all necessities. All trips from your tables to your belongings and back during the tests should be avoided.

* As early as you can, start filling the front page of the test paper: put in the top left corner the first letter of your last name, write down your last name, first name, student ID and Tutorial Section (0101 ,... , 5101), check Lecture Section . Do it properly to ensure that your test will be attributed to you and the test is returned to your tutorial section.

* Please leave you Student ID card in the corner of the table unobscured (put it after everybody is seated, and take it as soon as it is checked).

Notes:
* If you come late we simply will not be able to add time, no matter what is the reason.
* Try to minimize the time for trips to washrooms during the test: do it in advance, familiarize yourself with the location of them.
* During last 15 minutes everybody remains seated.
* After the test: don't forget anything in the room.
In early sittings: leave the room promptly, in particular, take your backpack and the clothes and walk out. You may put your clothes on and your staff in the backpack outside.
* Don't leave any garbage or scraps (including those produced by eraser, or pencil sharpener). Remember about the class or test after us!
* Pens only with black or dark blue ink, pencils only ordinary (HB or B) and ensure that your handwriting is easily readable.

Term Test 1 Aftermath
« Reply #4 on: February 14, 2018, 11:56:18 AM »
Term Test 2 will be organized in a similar way (but time(s) of the early sitting(s) may differ). In particular, you need to know your Tutorial section (otherwise the Test pay be could be misdirected)
