Does anyone know what Question 9(b) from Section 1.6 is asking us to do ? I have read the question a few times and I still do not seem to get the hang of it.

The conclusion of Example 13 is
$$
\frac{1}{2\pi i}\int_\gamma \frax{dz}{zp}=\left\{\begin{aligned}
&0 & p\text{ outside }\gamma\\
&1 & p\text{ inside }\gamma.
\end{aligned}\right.
$$
You are asked to verify it for $\gamma$ specified in 9(b) using two decompositions in 9(b)
